Summer Kayaking at the Abandoned Ship Graveyard
Al Berrios
Abandoned places are cool! Even when they're in the middle of a river. In NYC.
That's right fam, in case you didn't know, this trip takes you up close and personal to an abandoned ship graveyard in the middle of the Arthur Kill in NYC.
You can't go on them. You can't go thru them. You can't even touch them. It's trespassing. The ONLY legal way to view them is on the public waterway from a few feet away, museum-style.
What are almost 100 ships doing there? How is that even possible in NYC? And are those bald eagles hunting for their next meal?! Only way to find out is to join me on the next one.
Big shout out and thank you to these kayakers for their patience and resilience considering a totally sunny forecast became totally rainy weather while we were still in the water 🤦
An extra big shout to Kathy and Jin for the assist with our kayaks in the rain.
And a "really huge" shout out to Nick for the absolutely funniest moment I've ever had on these trips and being such a great sport 😂 I'm literally still in tears laughing after 3 days LMFAO #iykyk
