Fall Friday Group Hike to Sams Point and Ice Caves Files list
Al Berrios
It was supposed to rain all day. It didn't rain.
And being so high up meant we were hiking in the clouds all day so we did not anticipate any views.
It was supposed to be a tough hike. It wasn't, with its short, gravel-y gliking trail (glamp-y hiking).
I expected a crowed and very strict park officials regarding vans. They weren't even there. This is why I love hiking on Fridays.
Not gonna lie, I was a bit disappointed starting this trip. Nothing about Sam's Point and the ice caves turned out to be what I expected.
But then we got to the ice caves loop and 🤯 and everything changed. These ice caves are an excellent "pre-game" to actual caving (or spelunking). And after fam sampled caving for the first time, now they want to try the real deal. And I'm here for it!
This trail definitely deserves a second visit. Watch out for it on the trip calendar.
Thanks fam for being so hilarious and adventurous and patient and awesome with each other. You guys rock!
