"Fall" Group Hike To Balsam Fire Tower, But It Snowed
Al Berrios
Some of us were born to see things like this on TV. And some were born to go and see it for ourselves.
This trail is already challenging. Add a foot of fresh snow and it gets harder.
And it was cold. And at 3,723 feet high, you couldn't leave skin exposed for too long before it hurt.
Oh and our van got stuck in the snow. There were so many reasons to cancel. And only one not to. To be the first ones on this trail since fresh snow covered the mountain and witness a pristine wild forest, animal tracks and all.
I want to give a huge shout out to the fam who didn't cancel and joined me on this "expedition". My feet froze. My knees hurt. But my heart is full of joy to have accomplished this with you guys!
