DESTINATION
"If New Paltz were a Tinder profile, a lot of people would be swiping right. This town about 80 miles north of New York City, in southern Ulster County, is sporty, brainy, cultured and beautiful. Cradled by a mountain range, surrounded by meadows and forested preserves, cut through by a river, anchored by a state university and speckled with historic houses, shops and galleries, it attracts athletes, day-trippers, art lovers and now..." FAQS & Q&A
What kind of gear will I need to bring? You will receive a detailed list via email 72 hours prior to the event date.
If I don't have gear, can I borrow it from you? Yes! Borrow a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, or a camp chair for this trip - for free from drop down menu! (While supplies last).
My kids are coming. How serious are you about "kid-friendly"? There will be other kids at the campground. And you'll be able to reserve individual, kid-appropriate activities for you and your little ones each day during the Campout (while availability lasts). Also, kids 10 and younger can camp for free (as long as they fit in your tent).
I'm going alone and worried about walking around the campground in the dark. How far apart will the parking lot, campground and campfire be? Refer to the map in the images here. The parking lot is approximately 15 seconds from the checkin table and 30 seconds from the campground. You'll be able to set up your tent within line-of-sight to the campfire.
Will there be food? Although coffee and pastries will be provided starting at 7a (first come, first served), food is available in New Paltz, 3 minutes from our campground by car. The map on this page shows restaurants that deliver to our campground. There will be plenty of time between activities to order, receive and eat your food.
Will the camping and activities happen rain or shine? Yes. Rain or shine. Except for climbing. Can't climb in the rain. Also, if there's an electrical storm, kayaking will be canceled. If your activity gets canceled, your credit for that activity will be transferred over to the same activity from our calendar, so you'll be able to do it at a later date.
What if I don't want to camp 2 nights or can't make it to an activity I already signed up for? No worries. Kindly check in with a Host prior to leaving the campground and you can get a credit for the night you did not stay or activities you missed.
Ask any questions any time from the chat box on this page.
