Beginner Camping 10
Every year since 2013, we've hosted a camping trip for beginners who've been craving that backpacking experience with no running water or bathrooms, but still wanted to try it safely.
This is your trip!
We'll arrive at our campsite in the Catskills in upstate NY, set up our campsite and then, hike an epic trail with (or without) your gear.
Just need a good camping experience but without all the sweating? No problem. You can choose to do just the camping part.
It’s just one night, so you don’t have to rearrange your life. And it's pet friendly, which won't matter for many of you since you all seem to own cats for some reason 😹

WHAT TO EXPECT
- DAY 1
- 11am Arrive at destination
- 11:20am Begin trip
- 12p Arrive and set up at campsite
- ~1p Hiking at Catskill Interpretive Nature Trail Loop at Upper Esopus at Mt. Tremper, NY, 1 mile, ~100' elevation. (This trip is part of the #Onward Challenge and qualifies you to receive a free patch from NY State when you complete their Fire Tower Challenge. Not an advanced hiker? This trip gives you a small taste of what #Onward Challenges are like).
- ~5p Return to campsite, campfire, eat
- DAY2
- ~11am pack up campsite
- 12p Everyone welcome to brunch at a local restaurant.

- Borrow a backpack, tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, or a camp chair for this trip - for free! (While supplies last). Pro-tip: If it doesn't fit in 1 pack, you shouldn't bring it.
- Roundtrip shuttle available. Or get a Ryde Pass instead.
