Physical Distancing And Face Covering Policy
First and foremost, thank you for your interest in booking your next local adventure with us!
The following Policy was developed after carefully reviewing city, state, and federal guidelines on “Covid-etiquette” as it relates to outdoor recreation. We’re fortunate to also have medical professionals on staff and as part of our community who were consulted for this policy.
The following Policy is for anyone booking a tour or activity. You should not book a tour or activity if it’s within 5 days of your not feeling well. If you have no symptoms, continue to practice good hygiene - wash your hands, avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth - and remain vigilant about your health.
If you book an activity and develop symptoms or aren’t feeling well, you should behave as you normally would and contact us to cancel your reservation and either receive a full refund, no questions asked, or apply your credit to another tour or activity.
If you book an activity and develop symptoms during a tour or activity, kindly remember to cover your cough and sneezes. Use your elbow or a tissue. It’s most likely seasonal allergies and you’re not going to die. If you have chronic conditions like heart disease, diabetes, a compromised immune system, chronic lung disease, and/or cancer, we are advising you to book tour or activities where your contact and exposure to others is limited, such as kayaking in solo kayaks, bicycling, etc.
And finally, if you develop symptoms after a trip and believe you may have contracted it during your trip, you are advised to contact your doctor as soon as possible for diagnosis and treatment.
Please be advised that due to the nature of the activities you are reserving on this website, a very small percentage of guests who come out and have never had any issues suddenly develop issues. For example, your knees may start to hurt on a hike for the first time ever. Or you suddenly realize you’re scared of heights or tight spaces, but never knew. Sometimes, you never know when you’re vulnerable to something until you do it.
That said, Covid-19 appears to work the same way. No one knows how it will affect them until they get it.
And that’s a segway to our DISCLAIMER:
Just about any outdoor activity that you participate in is inherently dangerous. Without getting into too much legalese, please understand that risk of discomfort, injuries, exposure to allergens, mutilations, death, and a whole bunch of other risks we won't even name here, is high. If you do acknowledge these risks, because chances are, you've been outside before, that means that you, your family, your heirs, executors, and administrators also acknowledge these risks and assume them entirely. And that means that you agree to indemnify and release the owner and operator of this website and reservation service, Outerthere Adventures LLC and all affiliates from any legal liabilities associated with these risks. Which hopefully also means you won't sue if the proverbial hits the fan. Be aware that whatever activity you participate in with any 3rd party tour operator booked through this website will also ask you to sign documents with similar language to protect themselves as well.
PHYSICAL DISTANCING POLICY: Let’s face it, in a van or minivan, you cannot observe 6-feet distancing, so you can opt to get to the trip location on your own - instructions will be provided. However, if your trip includes transportation, your pickup vehicle will be cleaned the day prior to use.
- In a 7 passenger vehicle, up to 5 passengers will be permitted.
- In a 12-passenger van, up to 9 passengers will be permitted.
- And in a 15-passenger van, up to 12 will be permitted.
There will be hand sanitizer and limited gloves available for use.
During your tour or activity, we are asking that you be responsible and observe physical distancing out of respect for your fellow guests. This includes during breaks and when waiting on line wherever applicable. And although your trip host and/or tour guide will refrain from handshakes and hi-fives, elbow bumps are welcome.
FACE COVERINGS POLICY: Face coverings have proven to be one of the most effective ways to slow the spread of Covid-19. That said, whichever type of trip or activity you go on, and regardless of your views on your own individual health, we are asking for all guests to wear a face covering at all times out of respect for your fellow guests. Face coverings will not be provided and if you do not bring your own, you may not be permitted to participate in the tour or activity.
Each activity is different and requires different levels of exertion and we recognize that face coverings can be uncomfortable and irritating. Despite this, you should still observe Covid-etiquette and wear yours at all time during your tour or activity.
We are asking all of our tour operator partners to observe this Policy or a version of this Policy. If you believe a tour operator is not observing this or any Physical Distancing and Face Covering Policy, kindly contact us immediately via the chatbox below.
Thank you for booking your for trip with us and thank you for being responsible in continuing to flatten the curve even more allowing us to go back out!
