Outerthere is partnering with Shawn Axelbank of heyyoutfit for beginner bodyweight workouts specifically designed for the trail to make us stronger hikers. Expect to utilize hills, natural steps and even light rocks as weights to increase our heart rates and make us feel great while having fun. Shawn is a personal trainer and group fitness instructor who has been working at some of the top studios and gyms around NYC. She loves getting outdoors and believes that fitness should be fun and enjoyable as well as challenging.

How this hike works:

  • 11am Arrive at trailhead
  • 11:20am Begin ascent
  • 1p Arrive at midpoint - Activity + Lunch
  • 3p Return to trailhead
  • 5p Conclude hike
  • 5:15p Everyone welcome to eat after a local restaurant

This trip is for anyone that's tired of just "maintaining" on an indoor treadmill and is doable by everyone. However, since we're combining hiking and a beginner workout, this trip is rated intermediate.
