Passes FAQs

Will I receive a physical pass in the mail? No. Unlimited Adventure Passes are not physical passes. You will receive a Welcome email with a code specific to you. Apply this code at checkout and your eligible trip goes to $0.

How do I use my Pass? Upon purchase of your Pass, you will receive a Welcome email that includes an individual code. Apply that code at checkout when you book your trip from this website with your account any time while your Pass is active.

What's the best pass for me or my loved one? If you think you'll be signing up for at least 10 trips, consider an Annual Pass. If the trips you're looking at are around a particular time of the year, get the Season Pass. Or if you're checking out all the original hikes, consider the Hiking Pass. And if you're still not sure about making those commitments, consider getting the Sampler Pass. And why go alone? Get the Companion Pass! Or, just give 'em a Gift Card this holiday season and let them figure out for themselves why your adventure fam is so awesome.

What if I change my mind about my Pass? You are eligible for a full refund only BEFORE you book your first trip from this website. We have a No Questions Asked Cancellation and Refund Policy and it works similar when you book trips with your Pass. You're also able to cancel your Annual Pass, Season Pass, Ryde Pass or Hiking Pass up to 30 days after purchase. If you cancel during this time, you'll be refunded the cost of your Pass minus the full price for all of the trips you physically attended during your 30 days. You will not be eligible for a refund if you cancel your Annual Pass, Season Pass, Ryde Pass or Hiking Pass after 30 days. See details below.

What if I reserved a trip, but you added something cooler? Can I swap out? Yes, absolutely! However, depending on when you're swapping, the No Questions Asked Cancellation And Refund Policy applies, with differences specific to the type of Pass you have. You may not swap trips with a Sampler Pass.

What if I really love a trip and want to do the same trip twice? A lot of work goes into designing and operating the small group experiences you see on this calendar and packaging everything together so it's affordable and accessible to everyone. Your excitement keeps all this going. Unfortunately, for most Passes, it's necessary to limit how often a Passholder gets to go any one type of trip to create opportunities for others to also experience that same trip. So, at this time, you're only able to a reserve an individual trip once under any Pass, except a Hiking Pass.

What if the trip I booked gets canceled or rescheduled? Most trips appear on this website at least twice (or more) per season. On the rare occasion one or both are canceled, you will be extended credit towards the same or similar trip AFTER your Pass expires.

What if I need to cancel a trip that I've signed up for? This depends on when you cancel. Learn more about deadlines specific to the type of Pass you have from the No Questions Asked Cancellation And Refund Policy. But, to summarize, if you have an Annual Pass, Season Pass, Hiking Pass or Ryde Pass, the good news is that you're able to cancel any time for any reason. However, you may not be able to reserve that same trip again depending on when you cancel. You can still continue to reserve other trips. If you have a Sampler Pass, you're able to cancel any time for any reason, too, however you will not be able to reserve any other trip. You are not allowed to donate trips you're not able to attend.

What if I'm traveling or have an emergency and can't use my Pass? You are able to Pause your Pass for up to 3 months. When you're ready to reactivate, your Pass will continue to work for its remaining time.

THE FINE PRINT: Unlimited Adventure Passes are not physical passes. Upon purchase of your Pass, you will receive a Welcome email that includes an individual code. Apply that code at checkout when you book your trip with your account any time while your Pass is active. Your code will change your final balance in your shopping cart to $0 as long as your Pass is valid. It is only valid through Outerthere.com and is not valid with individual tour operators or at destinations.

Pass activation starts from the day you buy and automatically renews every year or until you cancel. Trips booked with Passes are non-refundable. However, if any activity you booked with your active pass gets rescheduled or canceled due to legal shelter-in-place requirements, medical emergencies, dangerous weather conditions or any other inability to use your Pass (including if you have any family or medical emergencies or travel), just reply to your Welcome email to Pause your Pass until circumstances allow you to enjoy your Pass again. You will be able to utilize your Pass for its full value after a Pause as soon as you're able to. However, you may only Pause for 90 days before your Pass reactivates. You cannot apply your Pass retroactively to trips you've already booked at their regular prices. You cannot book trips that are scheduled after you cancel your Pass.

You must create an account to use your code. There are no blackouts with your Pass - use any time there's a trip on our calendar, including holidays. Only The Annual Pass includes admission fees to public parks and and access to Scouting Trips. Unless otherwise stated, all Passes exclude international trips, Wknds! Trips and admission fees for destinations or events (i.e. ski resorts, water parks, obstacle races). Your Pass is only for you and you cannot transfer your Pass to someone else. You cannot donate trips to other guests.

You will be required to fill out Health Screeners, Releases, Waivers and adhere to Covid and safety protocols for each trip you book.

If you pay for your Annual Pass, Season Pass, Ryde Pass or Hiking Pass in full and need to cancel your Pass after 30 days, you are eligible for a refund minus the full price (at the time of reservation) for all trips you attended.

If you opt for a monthly payment subscription, you will be billed at the beginning of your billing cycle (usually the 1st of every month) and agree to commit to keeping your Pass for a non-refundable 12 months.

If you opt for installment payments (up to 4), you agree to commit to keeping your Pass for a non-refundable 12 months.
